Advice from Former Fifth Graders

Last May, as my former fifth graders were finishing up the year, I asked them if they were to do fifth grade over again, knowing what they know now, what advice would they give fifth graders starting the journey. Here are a few of their thoughts.......

• Have Fun, fifth grade is the BEST year.
• Do your homework!
• Listen to the teacher, things move fast!
• Try to make new friends, it is good practice for middle school.
• Enjoy the play, no matter what part you get.
• Write in your planner or else you WILL forget when you get home.

Believe it or not, you will be giving advice to incoming fifth grader before you know, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, we still have a fantastic journey ahead of us. I cannot wait!
