This week I enjoyed......
- The government unit is really awesome. I have always wanted to learn about this stuff
- Social Studies, I like our new book and I think it is going to be really interesting
- Government is fun and interesting, I did not think it would be this fun to learn about
- I told my dad about our social studies unit and he read our whole book.
- Learning about Nature Rights. We are all born with the right to life, liberty and property
- I really like social studies. I liked reading and talking about John Locke.
- Silent reading time and read aloud
- I liked working with my table group, thinking about what our world would be like if we lived in, "a state of nature."
In math this week .......
- I have liked working on word problems and working on two digit divisor problems
- I think I did a lot better on my multiplication fact test
- We have done lots of word problems. They are not as easy as I thought, since there are so many steps, but I still like working on them
- I am feeling way better about dividing big numbers
- I learned that to solve word problems you have to read the problem more than once!
- I got really frustrated and then I got help and now I feel like I know what I am doing.
- I liked working on word problems. Word problems used to be so easy, they are harder in fifth grade.
- I am really getting better at long division, we keep doing it and now I get it
For my November personal reflection writing, I will be working to improve?
- Trying to make my topic sentences more interesting and my concluding sentences stronger
- My spelling and making sure I proof read
- Reading my work aloud, I keep making mistakes
- Using commas
- Thinking of ideas and brainstorming
- Add more detail and more description
- Working on using more interesting words
Note: We are looking for yarn for a project in fifth grade. If you have leftover or rejected yarn that you would be willing to donate we would be very grateful. The more colorful and wacky the better! THANK YOU
